December Weekend in NYC

NYC - December Weekend in NYC - Travel Blog - Fashion Blogger - Chelsea Market

This past weekend my family and I took a weekend trip to NYC to visit my brother. As a frequent NYC weekend traveler you would think I would have seen it all - but no! There is always something new on my list to tackle in NYC. I really enjoy New York City during the holidays. There is nothing like it! The crowds are crazy, there are holiday decorations everywhere, and it is freezing cold! I wouldn't miss it for the world. If you are headed to NYC for Christmas or New Year's check out my guide from last year on all the fun festive things to do here.

This weekend I finally made it out to Chelsea Market!! I have been wanting to go for the longest time. The key to tackling the market is to get there early to beat the crowds. We started the morning with delicious fresh made mini doughnuts from Doughnuttery and a matcha latte from Chalait. I also had some delicious pastries from Sarabeth's Bakery. We also checked out the holiday market and picked up some cute goodies for the fam.

For lunch we headed to Luke's Lobster on the Upper East Side. Luke's is a cozy seafood joint with delicious food for the seafood lover! I couldn't get over how delicious the coleslaw was! I should have eaten more...

Belvedere Castle in Central Park - NYC - December Weekend in NYC - Travel Blog - Fashion Blogger

After lunch we headed to Central Park. My mom has never been to Central Park and I was eager to take her to Belvedere Castle and Bow Bridge. It was quite a chilly walk in the park but the beautiful fall foliage made up for it. We also managed to catch two proposals while we were in the park, 'tis the season!

NYC - December Weekend in NYC - City Bakery - Hot Chocolate - Brunch - Travel Blog NYC - December Weekend in NYC - City Bakery - Hot Chocolate - Brunch - Travel Blog

On Sunday we started the day with breakfast at City Bakery. This place is popular for it's delicious Hot Chocolate and boy oh boy was I not disappointed! The hot chocolate + giant marshmallow was so rich and delicious!!! It's a good thing I don't live in NYC because I would be a frequent visitor to City Bakery.

We walked over to Union Square Holiday Market for some shopping. My brother ended up buying some really cool art work from Brooklyn Art Factory. We also managed to find the only Persian food stand, Taste of Persian NYC, and enjoyed some delicious Aash!!

We wrapped up the weekend with lunch at BAITA Eataly's pop-up restaurant on the roof top. I went last year on Christmas Day with my brother. We had such a great time that I really wanted to take my mom and sister this year. The Italian food here is AMAZING! I had the housemate bread & spinach dumplings with butter & sage and I finished every last bit of it!

There is always so much to do in NYC and so little time! I'm counting down to my next weekend trip to the city!
