I had a blast this past weekend in Houston, Texas with my friends. I honestly felt like I was there for a week because we had did so many fun things!!
The first day we had breakfast at Tiny Boxwood's. I absolutely adored the vibe at this sweet little cafe! They are well known for their delicious chocolate chip cookies and boy oh boy it was divine. After breakfast we headed to Biscuit Paint Wall for some cute wall art and photo-op! For lunch we headed out to Killen's Barbecue for some of the best and authentic Texas BBQ. Once we were fully stuffed we went to The Mandir. In the afternoon we ended up at the Galleria which was intense! I'm not much of a mall person, online shopping is totally my thing, but the Galleria had every store you could possibly think of! It was fun to walk around and window shop and see all the holiday decor.
On Saturday we began the day with a delicious brunch at MKT Bar. The chicken and waffles here are amazingly (and halal!) delicious! I finished my entire plate and enjoyed every last bit of it. If you plan on going to Houston you really should have the chicken and waffles at MKT Bar! Afterward we walked over to Discovery Green Park to check out the Synchronicity of Color Art Boxes by Margo Sawyer. The art boxes made another great photo-op! My friend also took us to McGovern Centennial Gardens which was really cute to walk around and see some greenery. Around sunset we headed to Rice University to visit the Skyspace and check out the light show. For dinner we went to a local place M&M Grill (also Halal!) for some delicious Tacos and Chimichanga - cheese overload! For the finale we went to Nu Cafe for some delicious shave ice! We went with the mango and coffee flavors and they were delicious! I'm glad we don't have anything like this in Baltimore because I would be here on a daily basis!
On Sunday the weather was rather chilly therefore we altered the itinerary and stayed in for breakfast. Once we bundled up we headed to Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park. It was way to cold and windy to hang around for too long. Therefore we snapped a few pictures and ran back into the car. For the final wall art tour we headed to the Greetings From Houston Mural (3602 White Oak Dr, Houston, TX 77007). For lunch we grabbed delicious burgers at Stanton's City Bites (also Halal!). I had the delicious Holy Cow Burger with waffle fries and it was amazing!
Houston was such a blast and the food in Houston was on point! I'm positive I gained 15 pounds from this weekend but it was totally worth it!!! I definitely would love to go back soon to explore more of this lovely city!
