Concerts don't operate the same as it does here in the states. Tickets go on sale two days before the actual concert, more tickets are sold then there are actual seats, lines don't mean anything, seat numbers and rows are useless. Oh and there is no need to look nice because you are basically going to war. However I should mention that this concert was not in a big city such as Tehran - it was in a rural city - therefore your expectations should be lowered.
The best part of this concert was the awesome road trip we got to go on. It was a two hour drive from Amol to Chalus - which was actually made longer because of all the pit stops we made.
Stop 1 was for snacks.
Stop 2 was for ice cream.
Stop 3 was for tea & hookah.
We went to the Rastak Group concert. As stated on the group's website Rastak is a new ensemble for contemporary Persian folk music was formed as an experimental music group in 1997. The group seeks to collect, record and interpret traditional Persian folk music for a global audience, incorporating language, culture and history also merging traditional instruments and forms with contemporary rhythms. The musicians who comprise Rastak have graduated from the best universities in Iran and have done extensive research into Persian folk music.
This group is phenomenal! They are extremely talented! They deserve to be recognized internationally for their extraordinary talent. I made a video of their concert you can watch below. They had some sound issues at the concert thus the audio is not that great. Also the crowd was so overjoyed they were singing along and clapping the entire time!
The concert was definitely an experience and one that I will never forget!
