Iran | Tehran - Part 3

The day began with lots of shopping at Jom-e-Bazaar (Friday Bazaar). This bazaar is an all time favorite for my sister and I. The bazaar is in a 4-5 story parking structure and takes places only on Fridays. It gets very busy post noon therefore I recommend going early in the morning. There are a ton of great things to find from clothes, antiques, souvenirs, jewelry, and much more! Unfortunately picture taking is not allowed - however I managed to sneak in one photo of these amazing ottomans that I wish I could purchase and bring back with me! My favorite purchase this time was a miniature wood set of Persian musical instruments. It was an impulse purchase per my sister's nudging and I'm super glad I bought it. It's very unique and makes for lovely decor. In addition I bought some rings and an evil eye wall ornament. 

We grabbed a quick bite at Pirashki Khosravi in Meydan Jomhouri. Piroshki is basically fried heaven! We got the hot dog pirashki which was delicious. I contemplated have a second and third one but I knew better and stopped myself - it required a lot of self control. 

I have had visiting Azadi Tower on my list for many years. Every year I try to go and it just doesn't happen. Thankfully this time around my sister made it happen for me and we made it to Azadi Square and had the chance to go inside the tower and visit it. The tower has a lot to offer. There is a whole interactive section with all the provinces of Iran, an art gallery, library, in addition a gem and jewel collection, and a chance for you to take the elevator to the top of the tower. I was stoked to have the opportunity to visit the tower.

My bestie treated me to some delicious Anar Mohammad which is always high on my list of things to eat while I'm in Iran. This place is pomegranate heaven! They have a delicious pomegranate juice drink which includes pomegranate seeds, juice, and fruit roll-up all in one drink. You can opt to have it sweet, sour, or a combo mix. I always want to opt for the sour mix but my sister being the wise doctor that she is doesn't allow it - therefore I stick to combo mix. If I ever lived in Iran I would easily have one of these a day. No doubt about it.

Finally we had a lovely family dinner at Gilaneh - one of my all time favorite restaurants in Tehran. I ordered the Kabob Torsh which is lamb kabob marinated in a pomegranate walnut marinade. It legitimately is my favorite dish and I could live off of it for days!
