I am thrilled to introduce my wonderful friend Somayyah on the blog today! Through six degrees (or less) of separation explains how we became friends and how she is connected to the blog. Somayyeh is Iman's cousin and was on the planning committee with Farrah for Fashion With Compassion and her cousin  is married to my good friend! Make sense???
After the first time meeting Somayyah I instantly loved her - I may have also mentally said "Please be my friend you are so cool!" Somayyah is beautiful inside and out and always manages to have a smile on her face. She has a big heart which shines through her work in the nonprofit sector and the amazing charity event her and her fellow committee members planned. I was in awe of the FWC event and was honored to be apart of such a special and spectacular event. Somayyah is a kind, caring, and compassionate young lady and I'm super blessed and lucky to have her as a friend.
Keep reading and get to know Somayyah!

1) Educational Background?

Bachelors in Communication and Psychology, George Mason University

2) Current Job Title?

Fundraising Coordinator

3) Zodiac Sign? Age?

Capricorn, 26

4) Why did you choose or why do you love your profession/field of study?

The study of Communications & Psychology go hand in hand. I found that the two fields created a happy medium for me to pursue my career in the nonprofit sector.

5) What is the most rewarding thing about your profession/field of study?

The most rewarding thing about my profession is the dose of reality I experience on a daily basis. It is truly humbling working in the nonprofit realm. My profession adds a sense of perspective to what matters most on this journey of life.

6) What are your hobbies or interests outside of your profession/work?

I’m very family oriented, and outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family. Part of that includes my KG Krew :)

7) Favorite Website?

I am on the planning committee for Fashion with Compassion, a night of beauty & fashion to benefit victims & survivors of domestic violence. The beautiful Lauleh brought the magic of A Day in the Lalz to our stage. This year’s show is on Sunday September 27 - get all the details and tickets here!

8) Favorite TV Show?

NBA Games

9) Next travel destination?

I would love to see a piece of every continent;  traveling allows us to grow in so many different ways.  Jamaica, India, Brazil, Tanzania, and Palestine are just a few.

10) Who is your style icon?

I do not necessarily have a style icon per se, as I find a sense of style to be such a personal and unique aspect to each person.

11) What are 3 wardrobe staples you can’t live without?

Black pants, a white button down shirt, and a favorite pair of sunglasses.

12) Three words that describe your style or personality?

Content, passionate, and unexpected.

13) What would you tell your 20 year old self?

I would tell my 20 year old self to stay motivated and passionate about everything that I do.

"Everyone has been made for some particular work, and the desire for that work has been put in every heart." - Rumi
