Recently the Renwick Gallery in Washington DC reopened after renovations. I've heard and read wonderful things about the new exhibition WONDER currently at the gallery and finally had the chance to check it our this past weekend. I'm a huge museum person - anything artsy I'm down for. This exhibition has to be one of my top 10 favs! The installations are unique, spectacular, and one of a kind. I went with a friend of mine and we each had a different interpretation of the art - they do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. My favorite instillation has to be Gabriel Dawe's Plexus A1. I'm a colorful person and the installation is right up my alley.
Tara Donovan, Untitled
Gabriel Dawe, Plexus A1 instillation
Patrick Dougherty, Shindig
Leo Villareal, Volume (Renwick) instillation
Janet Echelman, 1.8
John Grade, Middle Fork
Jennifer Angus, In the Midnight Garden
If you are looking for something fun to do in DC this Thanksgiving weekend I highly recommend a trip to the Renwick Gallery (pssst it's FREE).
The exhibition goes on until July 10, 2016 which leaves plenty of time to check it out and explore!
