Weekend in Orlando

Epcot-Mickey Mouse-Travel Blog

Happy Monday! If you follow me on Instagram you know by now this past weekend was my sister's wedding! It was a jam packed weekend of festivities, families, foods, and lots of fun! I am so sad it is over but I can't wait to sort through all the photos and share the details with you. My sister let me live out my dreams of being a wedding planner and was gracious enough to include me in all the wedding planning details. More on that in a few weeks!

This week will be a Orlando takeover on the blog! I managed to escape to Florida for a weekend trip that was loads of fun!! I visited Disney World Epcot Theme Park and Universal Orlando to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, for the second time! This week I will share my detailed itinerary of Epcot and Harry Potter and how I planned my day and managed to see everything in the park before 5pm! In addition what to wear, what to eat, and how to take photos with all the characters at Epcot!

Today I'm sharing what I wore to Epcot and Harry Potter! The weather was in the high 80s and super humid the weekend I was there - really really hot. I opted for white denim to stay cool and although I was nervous about wearing white to a theme park, I managed to keep them clean all day! I obviously wanted to stay in theme (duh it's Disney!) and dress the part, therefore for Epcot I picked up these adorable Minnie Mouse Ears from Amazon (only $10) that went perfectly with my polka dot Haute Hijab scarf. My red blouse is from last year Banana Republic, here is a similar version. This was seriously the best thing to wear all day in the park! I received so many compliments on it from park attendants, random people, and even the Disney characters :) The blouse was breezy, comfortable, and looked great in ALL the photos! There is no reason you can't look cute at a theme park! I kept my shoes practical and was super comfortable in my TOMS x James Goldcrown heart flats. According to my fitbit I walked about 15,000 steps that day - so yeah these shoes were comfortable!

For Harry Potter, I dressed as Ravenclaw last year (see here) therefore I went for Gryffindor this time around. I kept my look pretty casual with white jeans, chambray tunic top, and converse. The tie added a cute touch to the Harry Potter Theme without having to go full on robe outfit.

The one thing I will recommend for any theme park is a backpack!! It is seriously the most convenient and practical thing to have with you all day! My bag included my DSLR, S'well bottle, portable charger, polaroid camera, extra camera battery, and little things such as snacks, gum, hand sanitizer, lotion, lip balm, etc. You can fit everything in a backpack and it allows you to be hands free running around the park! I've linked several backpack options for all price ranges below!

Stay tuned this week for all things Orlando!

  2. I love your Harry Potter themed outfit! You are too cute! I enjoyed Universal Studios so much more than Disney, but that is probably because I am a big nerd. :)
