My semester is over and I'm official on break and ready to celebrate! Wohoo!
Being the Persian that I am - I'm super pumped to be celebrating Yaldā this weekend! Shab-e-Yalda, also known as Winter Solstice, is the longest night of the year. Yalda is celebrated on the eve of the winter solstice which is December 21. There are many traditions tied in with Yalda - including eating pomegranatewatermelon, fruits and nuts, and reading poems of Hafiz and much more! I found this site to give the perfect description of Yalda.

Today let's talk fashion - Yalda fashion that is! I love incorporating jewelry that complement the occasion I'm celebrating. To celebrate Yalda I incorporated this stunning gold turquoise cuff from Visible Interest and the evil eye ring. These pieces are unique, modern, and the perfect touch to my festive outfit. It's in my Persian blood to gravitate toward anything Turquoise - I can't help it! The evil eye ring is fashionable and gives into my belief of warding off the evil eye or any bad joojoo - a girl needs all the protection she can get!

Happy Friday and Happy Yalda!
